ADDITION QUALIFICATIONS; IF ANY: PG in Tool & Fixture Design
SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE
- Certified learning in the field of Tool Design esp. Metal Forming and Joining.
- Manufacturing process knowledge / relevant working experience for Sheet Forming – Die Design, prove Outs and validation
- Knowledge of Inspection Methods – CMM, CMM Arms, VMI, Laser Scan, basic Metrology, etc
- Software Skills – CAD – SolidWorks, UG-NX, AutoCAD, Excel, Power point,
- GD&T certification (preference)
- Lean Tools
- Additive Manufacturing, Industry 4.0
- Fluent English and Communications Skills
TOTAL EXPERIENCE FOR THE SAID DESIGNATION
- 0-4 Yrs of relevant Experience
RESPONSIBLILTY:
- Study of Tool Request, Process Documents and Customer Drawings / Specifications.
- Develop tools and fixtures as per process needs.
- Review of design / solution with CFT and incorporate feedback and get approvals.
- Design, Manufacture and provide a calibrated Tool / Fixture to End User, as per Need by date.
- Identify Out-Source Needs and develop flow down specifications.
- Carryout Tool / Fixtures tryouts and get user acceptance and complete Tool validation.
- Develop and Maintain Tooling Master database
- Tool crib to store and maintain all tools and fixtures.
- Drive continuous improvement in processes to reduce learnings curves and achieve cost outs.
- Support business growth thru Estimation Support, feasibility reports and manufacturing database.
- Review and approval of tools, jigs and fixture for manufacturing process. For M1 and M2.
- Review drawings, specification and provide the feasibility during RFQ stage.
- Develop comprehensive scope-of-work and contract document deliverables list for each related discipline
ACCOUNTABILITY:
- Availability of Tools, jigs & Fixtures on time
- Zero Escapes w.r.t. Customer Requirements flow down
- Maintain configuration matrix
- Maintain Engineering Database

- Availability of Fixtures on time: >90 %.
